Anduril Kennels -- Sled Dog Team

At Anduril, Rob and Cara Greger presently live with 40 dogs, and all of the dogs are important members of their family. They work with training, good nutrition, care, and love to make the most of each dog's potential.

Because of their love of dogs and dedication to the sport of mushing, Rob and Cara make many public appearances and initiate programs for school children each year.

Rob also works on the board of directors for The Race To The Sky, and he is a regular speaker at the Montana Sleddog Rondevous and Trade Show each year. Rob and Cara both do a great deal of volunteer work with the local animal shelter.

In the 94-95 race season, Rob and "the kids" placed in the top ten in four of the five races they entered. In the fifth race, in which they did not place in the top ten, they received the "Best Cared for Team" award.

Rob competed in Montana's Race To The Sky 350-mile sled dog race in 1992, 1995 (placed 7th), 1996 (placed 2nd), 1997 (placed 14th), 1998 (placed 3rd), and 1999 (placed 7th).

Reflecting on the race

In 1998 Rob also raced in the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon in Minnesota, and finished in 11th place.

In 2000 Rob went to the Iditarod for the first time. It was a great experience for him and the dogs, but due to unusually warm weather and the "kids" picking up a virus, Rob made the decision to "call it," and scratched from the race at Gallena check point. As always Rob made the decision that was right for the dogs.

He was back to racing in Montana in 2001, competing in the Seeley 100, finishing 3rd, and The Race to the Sky, finishing in 7th place. In 2002, he placed 11th in the Seeley Race, and again 7th place in The Race To The Sky. In 2003 he took 5th place in the Seeley Race, and 5th place in The Race To The Sky. Most importantly, at the 2003 Race To The Sky, Rob's team was voted "Best Cared For Team" by the official race veterinarians.

Rob has also participated in many other races and placed well with the team. His sled dog racing is often "family vacation time," and a great time to get together with other friends/mushers.
